Archway to Ballet is a beginner-friendly online ballet and fitness program created specifically for adults.

Whether you’ve never stepped into a studio or it’s been years since your last class, this program meets you exactly where you are. Ballet isn’t just about movement — it’s a way to support your body, mind, and spirit. You’ll notice improvements in balance, flexibility, posture, and even cognitive focus — all through gentle, accessible progressions.

Designed by a dance instructor who has navigated her own life changes, Archway to Ballet offers bite-sized modules that are easy to follow, fun ways to track your progress with redeemable points, and guidance to help you build self-esteem and confidence along the way.

This program makes ballet accessible, empowering, and enjoyable — no previous experience or studio required.

Set your soul on fire — not to destroy yourself, but to release the beliefs and patterns that have kept you feeling stuck or disconnected.

From that space, you build something new.
A steady pathway.
An open door.
An archway — strong, supportive, and always available to you.

Archway to Ballet offers a completely different way to learn ballet.

This eight-module course is designed with the complete beginner in mind and built for real life. There’s no jumping, no getting up and down from the floor, and no need for a large space. Every lesson is intentional, accessible, and thoughtfully paced so your body can learn safely and confidently.

Inside, you’ll find:

  • Clear, easy-to-follow movement descriptions

  • Logical, supportive progressions

  • A variety of class styles to keep things engaging

  • Encouragement, inspiration, and gentle structure

  • Thoughtful supporting materials — plus a few fun surprises along the way

You may be surprised by what you can accomplish when the pressure is removed and the path is clear.

On your own schedule, in your own space, this journey invites you to move more freely, feel more at home in your body, reconnect with a long-held goal, or gently reach for a childhood dream you once set aside.

This course is for you if life has ever changed abruptly — if something burned away the version of reality you expected.

You don’t have to ignore that fire.
You can use it.

Not to rush.
Not to prove anything.
But to build anew — slowly, intentionally, and with care.

And from there, you rise..

Hi! I’m Nicolyn

With a Bachelor of the Arts in Dance, over 20 years of experience teaching and coaching, and nearly twice as many years performing, I have met students of every age, and at every stage. I created Dandelion & Opal to be something powerful and groundbreaking. There’s a dance studio teaching children on every corner of “anytown” USA, but adults, especially adult beginners, are a vastly underserved demographic. While teaching in a traditional dance studio, a courageous group of dance moms put their trust in me to lead them from sitting in the lobby watching their kids, to dancing on stage WITH their kids. Their growing confidence, and joy was what I desired to share with the world. Whether you are looking for an at home fitness routine to suit your needs and schedule, or you’d like to experience the joy and freedom of dancing for the first time, I hope you’ll find as much passion in Archway to Ballet, as I have had in creating and teaching it.

The Archway Story

This course is for anyone facing huge challenges, or small challenges. This course is for fitness, well being, mental health, motivation, longevity and fun!

A few years back, I found myself facing unbearable loss and devastation. It seemed in a single cruel and fleeting moment, a figurative fire burned down my entire world. I had to start all over again. That fire may have changed my present, but I used the rubble to build a new archway for the future. From a blank slate, and from the ashes, I rebuilt a new pathway.

I wanted to deliver a dance and fitness solution, just as I had in the traditional studio setting, for adults who could not attend traditional classes in person due to logistics, lack of confidence, or other. I wanted to bring joy to those that so passionately wanted to dance, like I passionately needed to teach it.

I was put here, to teach to the whole student, not just the dancer.

This course is for anyone who has ever faced adversity, felt a fire has cruelly changed the face of their reality, and is looking to rise from those ashes. This course is a statement to use the fire to your advantage. Take the rubble and rebuild the pathway to a new future that you want.
